AC Milan and Inter are set to earn a share of €7.5 million from the Supercoppa Italiana final in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night, a report claims.
As has been reported by FCInter1908 (via Pianeta Milan) on Sunday, the base level of money that will be paid out is €6.25 million.
The dividing of that figure will depend on the outcome of the match which kicks off at 20:00 CET on January 18 in Riyadh.
There is an additional factor that makes the payout bigger for the two Milan sides. The contract says that when a ‘top club’ participates in the tournament, the top clubs being Milan, Inter, Juventus and AS Roma, an additional €500,000 is added.
When two top clubs are playing, as is the case here, then an extra €1.25 million is added. That is what takes the initial €6.25m to €7.5 million.
The clubs will be more focused on getting their hands on silverware for the time being.
