AC Milan have set their sights on Giovanni Fabbian ahead of the summer transfer window, a report claims, but Inter have a say in his future.
Calciomercato.com report that Fabbian has all the characteristics that Milan need: he is young, versatile, talented and Italian. Thus, the management have set their sights on him in view of the summer, when there will be a revolution within the squad.
At the moment, there are only two certainties in the midfield department: Tijjani Reijnders, who renewed his contract until 2030, and Youssouf Fofana. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah and the others have a big question mark over their heads.
Regardless of how the season ends, Milan are thinking of saying goodbye to Sergio Conceicao and starting over with a new coach. This new profile will work on building the 2025-26 squad together with the new sporting director, with Igli Tare in pole position.
Changes are expected, including the arrival of versatile and functional players who know the league well. Fabbian fits the bill and though he has a contract expiring with Bologna in 2028, but could pack his bags in the summer.
For Vincenzo Italiano – who has been linked with the Milan job this morning – he is useful but not indispensable. His record is two goals in 22 games across all competitions, but only seven of those appearances have been starts.
Therefore, if an offer were to arrive it will be taken into consideration, though Inter start ahead of everyone in the race. In 2023 they sold Fabbian to Bologna for €5m, inserting a buy-back clause of €12m valid from 2025.
To date there have been no signals from the Nerazzurri side, while Milan have already expressed interest. The relationship with Bologna is excellent (as the Davide Calabria operation shows) and there will be talks over Tommaso Pobega’s future.
Pobega is currently on loan at Bologna with an option to buy. The right proposal will be needed to convince the Rossoblu to sell Fabbian, but the salary is not a problem as he currently earns €400k net per year.
“…including the arrival of versatile and functional players who know the league well.”
Cannot believe these executives, who sit on billions of dollars of portfolio in enterainment and sports needed 2 and a half seasons and 250 millions down the drain to realize this. We, the Doom&Gloom folks been saying this since the very beginning.
I was telling everyone Redbird are noobs in football. People were talking about Liverpool like they have anything to do with that. In the end it turned out they are out of their depth and that Elliott was 100 times better at sports club management.
Because Elliot folks understood they understand nothing about football and hired relevant and experienced people from world of football.
These jokes thought they know better and can do better and will somehow revolutionise Italian football. Here’s the outcome now.
And these new fans, the Gerryboys, are easily bought. Just throw some money down the drain and get bunch of players, they never heard of before but PR told them they’re awesome. Cause Gerryboys are used to fast fashion and cheap franchise on demand from yank sports. If you can even call baseball and American football sports. Folks who attend games of baseball and their football don’t even watch the match, they’re more into the halftime shows, cheap overpriced hotdogs and kisscam.
I think he is worth it. Give him a chance.
But fix the management first
Get Rid of furlani, Moncada, Zlatan along with redbird out
He’s not needed. Zeroli’s development is being stagnated.
Only tijjani and fofana, how about bondo?
How about Bondo ?? Is that a joke……relegation standard, he was only bought because he fits the Moncada stereotype
Ricci supposed to be the number one summer priority target among all the midfielders rumoured to be the target, he too fits the bill(Italian and young) we have the advantage over our rivals as he shows his willingness!!
You know who else plays midfield and knows the league well? Ricci and Frendrup…maybe look into those guys
