The rumours surrounding AC Milan and a possible move for Watford forward Joao Pedro have gathered further steam after a social media post.
The Athletic write how Joao Pedro documented his recent visit to Milan through a series of Instagram posts including one of him in a bar overlooking the Duomo and another with him on an electric scooter with his grandmother.
The source acknowledges the links with Milan but claim that they have been told by the Brazilian’s representatives that the visit ‘had nothing to do with any negotiation’ and that he simply wanted to go on a city break to Milano.
The Rossoneri are admirers of Joao Pedro but the length of his contract (which runs until 2028) and his asking price are likely to be obstacles. Newcastle United had a bid of £30million turned down, and the renewal he signed after is ‘likely to have pushed any potential fee for Joao Pedro beyond Milan’s means’,
Watford will now demand ‘far more than £30million this summer’ which means the only way Milan could launch a serious move is if they were to sell Leao for a figure close to €100m.
