From Spain: Milan interested in signing Real Betis star as contract impasse continues

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain interested in signing playmaker Nabil Fekir as Real Betis are struggling with the renewal of his contract, a report claims.

According to Fichajes.net in Spain, the renewal of Fekir is at a standstill because even though Betis want to extend the 28-year-old’s contract – which is set to expire in 2023 – the player knows there are a number of top clubs patiently waiting to see if he extends.

Milan are keen as they are looking for attacking reinforcements given that the depth has often suffered as a result of injuries, in addition to the fact that Samu Castillejo may leave and Junior Messias – who arrived on deadline day – might end up playing more on the wing than as a No.10.

The report adds that the vast majority of the club who want Fekir are in the Premier League, although right now the future of the Franco-Algerian is torn between continuing in Spain or heading to Italy. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in 18 appearances across all competitions this season.
