GdS: Milan retain interest in signing €40m-rated Sassuolo star who dazzled at San Siro

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have once again put Gianluca Scamacca in their sights after his impressive performance at the San Siro yesterday, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Milan management are already thinking about the future of the attacking department and while new arrivals are to be excluded for January – since there are three strikers in the squad currently – they know an investment will be needed in the summer window.

Pietro Pellegri will be return to Monaco unless he has a sensational turnaround, even though Milan have the option to buy him, while it would be dangerous to rely on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Oliver Giroud who have a combined age of 75 and have had their injury problems already this season.

This is where Scamacca’s name has emerged again, especially after his excellent performance against the Rossoneri in which he scored the equaliser with a beautiful hit from 25 yards and forced the own-goal to make it 2-1.

He is a profile that Elliott Management like a lot but Sassuolo want €40m for him as things stand, a figure which is potentially destined to grow between now and June if the 22-year-old continues to do well. Scamacca has been on the Rossoneri’s list of targets for some time, but at the end of the season their needs will prevail.

  1. Dazzled?? Bakayoko gave away the ball at the top of 18 – he had an uncontested shot and scored lol. He should score from that distance. Other than that what did he do? 40M for Samacca? No thank you. Spend 60M and buy Vlahovic.
