MN: Milan’s January plans become clearer – latest on Botman, Caldara, Adli and more

By Oliver Fisher -

With the January transfer window just around the corner now, AC Milan’s strategy regarding signings and sales is becoming a bit clearer, a report claims.

MilanNews reports that the first target will be to find a replacement for Simon Kjaer who will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury and Sven Botman of Lille is the favourite candidate in terms of his age and his profile. The 21-year-old will cost a lot, but the Rossoneri are more than interested in landing him.

Meanwhile, the idea of Mattia Caldara returning early from his loan spell with Venezia does not seem to have any real credibility at the moment, just as there are no major confirmations on the idea of doing the same for Yacine Adli who will complete his loan spell at Bordeaux.

Milan are only expected to make signings in the role of central defender, however there may also be the need to add to the midfield given Bennacer and Kessie will leave for the African Cup of Nations and Bakayoko has shown that he is not in good form. A young striker is on the agenda, but more so for the summer.

Both Samu Castillejo and Andrea Conti will be allowed to, while Daniel Maldini is not expected to depart in January.
