Santiago Gimenez hasn’t scored in over 10 hours of Serie A action, and this has inevitably forced AC Milan to look for solutions.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report, the Milan management tried to offload Gimenez in the summer but in the end they gave him until January to prove himself, and his return of zero league goals in over 600 minutes of play could force new reflections.

The CEO Giorgio Furlani and the sporting director Igli Tare are looking around ahead of the next winter transfer window at potential options to arrive and fix the striker issue that Massimiliano Allegri is battling.

The names on the list

Artem Dovbyk’s name remains one that Milan are looking at, having also scored his first goal of the season for Roma last night. He was linked with a move towards the end of the summer, in a swap deal involving Gimenez that never came to fruition.

In addition to the Ukrainian striker, Milan are also reportedly pursuing two ‘new’ targets: Joaquin Panichelli of Strasbourg and Jonathan Burkardt of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The former is a 23-year-old Argentine who played for River Plate, and is being eyed by several other European giants, given his 10 goals already in Ligue 1. The latter, meanwhile, has so far scored nine goals in 12 games for the Bundesliga club, which means he is valued at over €30m.

Among these names could also include an old flame: Joshua Zirkzee of Manchester United. However, the Rossoneri are unlikely to make the first move for the Dutchman, especially after his rejection in the summer of 2024. If he were offered, though, they could sit down and talk.

  1. Here we go again …. chasing “scorers” and “strikers” we never heard about!!!!! Same old story …..

    1. burkadt is doing well, panchielli more unknown but its our scouts jobs to see who does well and report the info And so on .you cant go for haaland mbappe osihmen alvarez lautaro , you go for the second best options which is the 25-40m range of strikers . some do good . most struggle in serie a

  2. Every year , we search for strikers . So embarrassing. Why did you management allow Tammy to leave when you don’t want to spend on a proven striker ??????

  3. Bring back Camarda. He holds up play better than Santi and is always looking to score. He already seems stronger than Santi and if he is supposed to be our striker of the future why not start now.

  4. Who the fu** is standing behind Dovbyk rumor?
That guy is literally the worst possible option and yet he is constantly linked to us???

  5. The same Burkardt who just transferred from Mainz to Frankfurt this summer for 23M? It’s going to take 50M+ to pry him away from Franfurt now. As always, we’re a year late, same as Ekitike, who we could have signed from PSG for a pittance. Just get Icardi from Galatasaray. Proven goalscorer who will cost below 20M.

    1. Yeah we gotta go for icardi and panichelli upfront as we know argentine strikers are mostly good due to their world cup idol like messi their Goat

      1. LOL i dont usually bother with rumors before the window. BUT it always makes me laugh about our links to Icardi. We’ve been linked to that guy for so long. Same with Berardi. In a world full of uncertainty, we can at least be sure we will be linked with Icardi and Berdardi. LOL

        1. Haven’t seen any Berardi links for a couple of seasons. Regardless, at least Icardi and Berardi score goals and have done so in Serie A in droves, unlike countless other forwards we’re linked with all the time.

  6. no chance Frankfurt sell Burkardt for less than 50 mill. We all know how much frankfurt sell there strikers for like Ekitike especially in January when he has 9 goals and 1 assist in 12 games and is second top scorer of the bundusliga behind Harry Kane.
