Joao Felix has already made it clear that he wishes to join AC Milan on a permanent deal when his loan spell expires, a report claims.
The Portuguese forward was one of five signings that Milan made in a very busy winter mercato and he was the last to be announced. He is expected to be on the bench for tonight’s Coppa Italia game against Roma, so could therefore make his debut.
According to TBR Football, Felix joined Milan on a loan deal worth £5m (around €6m) but there was no option or obligation to buy clause inserted. That means he is set to return to Chelsea at the end of the season, but the 25-year-old – and Milan – ‘have other plans’.
The report claims that the former Benfica starlet and the Rossoneri ‘have a long-term future together in mind’. Joao Felix has been told that Milan directors ‘fully intend on making his move permanent in the summer’.
A number Premier League clubs came in during January such as Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United. However, when Milan came in the Portuguese made a switch to Italy his preference, with the aim of it extending beyond the summer.
He had conversations with Milan which included the head coach Sergio Conceicao but he ‘was also won over by the club’s football advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has informed the club’s top brass that Felix could play a huge role in the club going forward’.
Milan are ‘very happy to have landed Felix’, but were ‘unable to put together a permanent package this month’ because of the outlay needed to get Santiago Gimenez. Thus, it will be revisited in the summer, with a reminder that Chelsea paid over €50m to sign him last summer.
Loan for one more year, but loan fee will be higher.
well, he probably will cost 50 million or more, so he really must how himself this half year.
35m last Milan can pay for him if he perform well
Going from a 150M€ player to a 30M€ one looks like he’s made for Milan. 😀 😀 😀
Glad if it works out and he’ll deserve a permanent transfer. If it doesn’t, well… Let’s just hope he does enough to get us into UCL next season. Plenty of fish in the sea if this doesn’t pan out.
Because he’s on a 7 year contract, his value on Chelsea’s books only drops by ~€7.5M per season. Somehow I don’t see us paying over forty for him next summer.
Hopefully he can help us qualify for UCL rounds and next season’s competition, then it will pay off, but I don’t see it in the long-term unless it’s another loan next year, Chelsea are willing to eat a loss on him or we end up selling them someone like Theo or Leao on an inflated price.
Let’s worry about his performance for the next few months for now.
Ismael Bennacer conference press: “If I’m here, it’s not because Milan didn’t want me any more, it’s above all because I wanted to be here. I wanted to go to OM and not to another club.”
“Roberto de Zerbi is looking for my profile. Having possession, keeping the ball and winning. That’s not necessarily the philosophy I knew at Milan. They’re tacticians who aren’t necessarily keen on possession and the roles of the midfielders are fundamental.”
Lol.
Roles of the midfielders are fundamental and that’s why it’s a blessing in disguise that we upgraded from Benny to Bondo. 🙂
Bondo is a Taiwo/Traore
He won’t play
Like someone else said, he has to show that he is RIGHT NOW a worthy player. To me, it seems like Felix is the kind of player that will be moved around from club to club, based on hopes and potential, not on actual output. It’s not enough to show some flashes here and there. He has to be IT, give all, every game.
“It’s not enough to show some flashes here and there. He has to be IT, give all, every game.”
LOL!!!! Are you talking about Felix or his teammate from the national team? 😀 😀 😀
Believe me when I say that to some people here, it’s definitely enough to show some flashes here and there to get their unconditioned love. 🙂
Keep throwing enough pasta at the wall, something will stick,Pulisic great pasta.
BS story lines…. Don’t even know if the kid is any good…
He’s gone in the summer
Milan is broke, SOS, Milan is broke, SOS somebody buy us
Pulisic 2.0 incoming. The management at Chelsea right now is just poor
