CM: Why Milan are buying Pellegri for €3.5m and the plans for summer striker signing

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s attacking department is about to get one player lighter as Pietro Pellegri is close to an exit, with the management now thinking about who could enter to fill the spot.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan will soon close negotiations with Monaco for the permanent signing of Pellegri for €3.5m plus bonuses and once that deal is closed, the Italy U21 international will be sent to Torino on loan for 18 months.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have confidence in Pellegri and are have also been studying a project that could generate a future capital gain, because selling the 21-year-old down the line would likely yield that if things were to not work out with Milan.

That does not change the plans for January and a big signing for the attack is only expected in the summer transfer window. Milan’s idea for then is to include a ‘project’ style centre-forward in the squad for next season, a talented young number 9 who could emulate what Rafael Leão and Theo Hernandez did by growing in the right conditions into one of the best in their position.

A player like River Plate’s Julian Alvarez certainly fits the bill, and the Rossoneri management are still working on signing him, even though he is evaluating an offer from Manchester City.

  1. He’s gone to City already. And how much did they pay 16mill plus bonuses an amount we can afford, but no we want to do clubs dirty and sign thier best gems, like every club will have retarded board members. I just fu**ing hate our transfer operation sometimes.
