Milan, Juventus and Inter on alert as Fiorentina owner admits €60m star can leave

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa as their owner has admitted he can leave.

TMW journalist Enzo Bucchioni (via MilanNews) recently claimed that Pioli has named two players he would like Milan to try and sign in the upcoming window in Nikola Milenkovic and Federico Chiesa, a duo he helped launch at Fiorentina.

Pioli has in mind the ability to be able to switch to a three-man defence for which Milenkovic would be perfect, while Chiesa marries very well with the 4-2-3-1 he has been using recently.

Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso seems to have now admitted that he will not stand in Chiesa’s way if he wants to go and if a team pays the asking price, which TMW claimed is €60m.

Speaking to Sky Italia (via MilanLive) he said: “I hope he wants to continue with Fiorentina, but if he wants to go I gave him permission, as long as they bring us the money that corresponds to his value.”

The report adds that Juventus could come forward again and Inter are also monitoring the situation. In the past few days, Milan have also emerged as a potential destination and Lucas Paquetà could be included as a counterpart, however it is a complicated operation given that the price of Chiesa is very high.
