AC Milan have discovered their new UEFA club ranking now that the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League group stages are done.
As MilanLive recalls, this ranking takes into account the last five seasons played in European competitions, including the current one. Milan were already at a disadvantage compared to the other clubs having only returned to the Champions League this season after seven seasons without it.
The Rossoneri have finished in 43rd place which means that Lazio, Atalanta, Inter (overtaken by Napoli), Roma and Juventus are all above. Bayern Munich are top of the pile, followed by Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea who contested the final last season.
As of August 2020 Milan’s position was 91st, so the trend is still upwards. The ranking of the seven Serie A sides in the top 50 is below:
➤ Juventus (8th): 106 points
➤ Roma (11th): 88 points
➤ Napoli (23rd): 66 points
➤ Inter (24th): 65 points
➤ Atalanta (25th): 59.5 points
➤ Lazio (29th): 53 points
➤ Milan (43rd): 38 points
