MN: Pioli left with a crisis in attack but an opportunity arises for summer signing

By Oliver Fisher -

When he joined AC Milan in the summer, Pietro Pellegri was perhaps not expecting to have such a potentially crucial role so quickly.

As MilanNews writes, neither Olivier Giroud nor Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be available for the match in Turin against Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus tomorrow night as the former has an Achilles tendon problem while the latter has back pain.

It will therefore be up to Ante Rebic again to lead the line and the Croatian has done that well in the last couple of games, amassing two assists against Lazio and scoring the equaliser at Liverpool. However, it must also be acknowledged that expecting him to play with full intensity for 90 minutes again might be unrealistic.

There is a lack of real alternatives for the attack as Junior Messias and Rade Krunic are still out, meaning Daniel Maldini, Samu Castillejo and Pellegri are the only ones who can really come on and change the game.

When he arrived from Monaco it was for situations like this, and the 20-year-old could make his debut at the Allianz Stadium to give Rebic some time to rest.
