Reports: Milan launch Asensio assault but early obstacles emerge

AC Milan have begun negotiations over the potential summer signing of Marco Asensio from Real Madrid but have hit an early obstacle, reports claim.

According to MilanNews, the management are continuing their evaluations on the Spaniard, deeming him the perfect profile to improve an attacking department that have struggled to find consistency all season, especially in the No.10 and right wing roles.

However, at the moment the salary requests that Asensio has laid out are deemed high by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara which is one problem to overcome, in addition to competition from Premier League teams. In the coming days, possible developments on the affair could arrive.

Meanwhile, AS (via MilanNews) also confirms Milan’s interest in Asensio and add that the Rossoneri have started contacts to complete the operation in June. The Growth Decree would help with his salary which is currently €5m net and could prove decisive in the success of the operation, but the negotiations between the clubs has not yet begun.
