AC Milan’s new left-back will not be Archie Brown, as he is about to sign for José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce after flying to Turkey.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Brown will join Fenerbahce for ‘just a few million more’ than Milan’s offer. It represents ‘a slap in the face for AC Milan’s higher-ups’, who let the Gent defender ‘slip from under their noses’.

What happened?
As of late last night, the Rossoneri were ahead in the race for the 24-year-old, but overnight the Turkish club decisively overtook them. Brown will fly to Istanbul in the next few hours for a medical.
The higher salary offer from Mourinho’s club was decisive. The former Derby County youngster had been chosen as a replacement for Theo Hernandez, who has gone to Al-Hilal to join up with Simone Inzaghi.

There is something really funny about this whole transfer. It was as fast as a hj and all parties involved seemed so dumb, including us.

What does .. ‘the deal was practically done’ mean? Was ACM screwed? Generally there are verbal agreements before the paperwork is drawn up. Just wondering.

We appear to negotiate as if we are purchasing a car. Something that can simply be manufactured.
We fail to realize the “cars” in our scenario have a will. The have hopes, dreams and desires.
Our inability to move quickly (similar to our attacking ball movement last season) leaves the door open for other clubs to swoop based on those factors.
We repeatedly see ourselves suffer for this reason. Additionally we end up with players late on the window and the miss preseason further hurting us.
Then we are impatient with the players and give up on them quickly when they take too long to perform.
Then we go back to the Mercato … A pretty terrible and self inflicted spiral towards mediocrity.
A bit of intent and decisiveness would do us well. Hopefully Brown is an exception and Mordric and Ricci are more the new norm with Tare steering the sporting side
