Relevo: Milan leading the race for Lyon midfielder as he asks friends about life in Italy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are the club that are currently leading the race to sign Houssem Aouar on a free transfer, according to a report.

According to a report from Relevo, Aouar has not yet decided where he will play next season but he knows that he wants to play in the Champions League next season. He has not reached an agreement with any club over a pre-contract, but Milan are currently front of the queue.

The Rossoneri have been in contact with the player’s entourage for months, and were one of the first teams to try to sign him along with Real Betis, and Aouar has already spoken to some of the French players in the squad about living in Milano.

The possible signing of Aouar is linked to the possible departure of Brahim Díaz who is getting closer towards renewing his contract with Real Madrid and returning there. However, Milan will have to fight against fierce competition from Betis and Lazio, as well as potentially teams from the Premier League.

  1. He will be a welcome addition. Possibly Krunic and Diaz wont become our permanent solution.

He is free, low risk high reward.. so Milan material

  2. Sign him ASAP – exactly the player we need. 24 years of age and zero transfer fee. What more can you ask for Elliot/Redbird. Excellent talent and would be a welcome addition for our mid. We don’t need to spend transfer fee/option on Diaz if we sign Aouar.

  3. Let us hope we will not keep thinking about this player for 6 to 8 months before maldini/massara/pioli make up their minds . ….. if they really want him …… otherwise the bird will fly away from red bird and find someone else ….

  4. I find this hard to believe given the number of clubs that could possibly offer bigger salaries or at the least more agent fees, but if it is true he would be a very welcome addition to the squad. Quality player.
