CM: Milan turn to Parma teenager as €20m target heads for RB Leipzig

While AC Milan remain without a sporting director they risk losing ground on some transfer targets, including two central defenders.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are an open construction site where work is progressing at a slow pace, so slow that the main targets for the defensive department are in danger of heading to other clubs.

Change in centre-back targets?

For example, RB Leipzig have set their sights on Cristhian Mosquera of Valencia. The German club are ready to satisfy Valencia’s demands and the Spaniard has already given the ok for the transfer in what would be an operation worth €20m.

The negotiation between Valencia and RB Leipzig is already well underway, which will not please Geoffrey Moncada. The director had been working on the 20-year-old for months and he had become the number one objective.

Another name that Milan have been working hard on in recent days is that of Giovanni Leoni from Parma. The teenager is so popular with the Rossoneri that they want to try to anticipate the competition from Juventus.

The 18-year-old came through the youth academy at Padova and went to Parma in 2024 from Sampdoria after their relegation to Serie B. Milan want to win the race for a player who is performing in Serie A despite being so young.

  1. Giovanni Leoni must be the first option from the beginning. He’s extremely talented with a lot of potential. He can be the next Nesta in my opinion.

  2. Young italian talent to build for the future is the way forward, get Leoni and Coppola/comuzzo and we are set in defence, Ricci/prato/nicolussi and we are set for midfield, Lucca/Piccoli/Colombo set for attack
No more foreigners, it’s clearly not working for us

    1. comuzzo renewed his contract last week or something until 2029 if I recall correctly so it seems unlikely that he will make a move in the summer.

    2. I don’t know much about those names. What ever it’s we should know Milan as 7* European champions can’t go down this way.

  3. Leoni and Bartesaghi (who is being developed in the role) are players I would gladly build a generation around as CBs.

  4. The management doesn’t like to gamble on Italians when they’re reasonably priced. After they’ve exploded and the price tags are out of our reach, THEN they will show some interest but will forfeit because the price is too high. We could list all the players that fit the description but it would be a helluva long list.
