L’Equipe: Bahrain-based fund worth over $37bn in talks to buy AC Milan and Lille

There could be some news soon about the future of AC Milan from an ownership point of view because a Middle Eastern group are keen on buying the club.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe (via TMW) focuses on the ownership situation at Milan and all the doubts that there are about Elliott Management and whether they see the club as something they want to hold on to for the long or even medium-term.

In this regard, Milan are in contact with the Middle Eastern investment fund Investcorp which would like to buy both the Rossoneri and Ligue 1 club Lille. Investcorp were founded in 1982 and their modus operandi is to allow wealthy Middle Eastern families to invest in markets and development projects.

They are located in Bahrain, and there are certainly questions about whether the recent trips out to the Dubai Expo by the club might have helped to drum up some interest. As of 2019, Wikipedia writes that they have over $37bn in assets under management.
