AC Milan are looking to repeat a Luka Modric-esque coup by luring Bernardo Silva to Italy on a free transfer, a report claims.

There is a specific objective for this final part of the season for Milan: to reach at least fourth place and achieve the goal set since the beginning of the year, which is qualifying for next year’s UEFA Champions League.

It is an achievement that would allow them to return to top-flight European football while simultaneously replenishing the accounts in view of the summer. From there, they would have greater margins to strengthen the squad available to Massimiliano Allegri.

As per La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com), Milan are considering two major deals to strengthen their midfield: Leon Goretzka and Bernardo Silva. Both are on expiring deals with their respective clubs, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Goretzka will officially leave Bayern Munich on July 1st on a free transfer. The German midfielder is asking for a salary of around €6m net per year, while Milan are continuing to monitor and evaluate the potential operation.

The competition is fierce, though. Barcelona have also registered interest in Goretzka, but the Rossoneri remain tempting for the former Schalke 04 man, even if everything will depend on the player’s desire and the economic parameters within which they will have to comply.

Milan are also keeping the idea of trying for Bernardo Silva alive. The 31-year-old Portuguese could leave England at the end of the season if he has a convincing project. Juventus are also keen, as are Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

The issue to be resolved is more of an economic one: the salary requested by the ex-Monaco star remains high, but the Diavolo have nevertheless inquired about the room for manoeuvre through some discussions with his entourage.

    1. I think Bernardo Silva will play as a 2nd striker in Allegri 3511 which is the same 352 formation. The more we linked to him is the more possibility that Leao will be sold.

      1. most bi-polar fanbase… he has most goal contribution for us and for some reason cause he doesn’t tackle like Gatusso, he should be sold…

        1. You’re the bipolar one – putting Leao in the same sentence as Gattuso is a massive disrespect to Milan legend. Gattuso always put in 110%, every game, every training whereas Leao puts in 10% or less. He is the laziness player ever and should be sold if anyone wants to take him.

          1. And if you’re speaking about this season, Pulisic & Leao are tied but Pulisic has played ~200 minutes less.

  1. Bernardo Silva could play any position in his stride better then anyone else in our squad, so the question is ridiculous.

Signing him would be extraordinary. He has few years left in his tank.

    1. THIS. Truth hurts sometimes. Funny to see many members here questioning where Silva and Goretzka will fit on this team. Anywhere you put those two, they’ll better than anyone we have now. Just look at Rabiot’s case.

    1. Wow he criple us a lit with ols people like Modric and Rabiot. What a wasted transfers. We should go back to getting players like Vranx

    2. Youngsters don’t make trophies. You should know that. It’s a mixed team of youth and experience. Pay attention, Greg. It’s not difficult

    1. He had a poor game, whereas kean was brilliant! He’ll definitely shine against bosnia. Pisili looked like the technical midfielder we’ve been missing for so long.

  2. I wouldnt mind selling Leao and getting some other serious quality players.

He is world class but inconsitant.

id put Leao in the group of the Bojan kurkic, Draxler, dos santos etc.

i mean you cant even compare Leaos impact to someone like Pato.
