Milan loanee Colombo explains why he uses a mental coach: “You have to know”

Lorenzo Colombo scored a lovely brace for Monza in their 3-1 win over Hellas Verona earlier today. Speaking to the media afterwards, the Milan loanee discussed his positive start to the season.

The 21-year-old has found the back of the net three times this season, assisting an additional goal. In today’s clash against Verona, he bagged a brace and the second goal was an absolute screamer (take a look at it here).

Speaking to DAZN after the game, as cited by MilanNews24, Colombo shared his thoughts on the brace and also explained why he uses a mental coach. Furthermore, he highlighted his biggest strength on the pitch: shots from distance.

On the brace…

“The dedication goes to my girlfriend, my family, my mental coach and in general to all the people who believe so much in me.”

On his mental coach…

“The mind in general and everything that revolves around it is fundamental for us footballers. You have to know how to touch the right buttons to find performances like this.”

Goals from outside the box…

“I like it, it’s my main strength.”

On reaching Europe with Monza…

“We like to dream, but we prepare the matches during the week with this spirit. Only in this way can we claim other important points.”

Milan are watching on with great satisfaction and next season, Colombo could stay with the first team of the Rossoneri. However, one could argue that he would have been needed now as well, seeing as Luka Jovic hasn’t performed so far.
