Milan loanee Pobega on the future: “It would be a dream to return”

By Isak Möller -

Elliott and Ivan Gazidis’ plans for AC Milan are very clear, wanting to lower the average age of the squad. In other words, they will rely heavily on young players, following the model of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

As Jack Bonaventura and Gigio Donnarumma could leave in the summer, there has been talk about the Rossoneri loanees Alessandro Plizzari (20 years) and Tommaso Pobega (20). Both have impressed in Serie B and could be given the chance next season.

In an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.com, Pobega spoke about the potential return to Milan in the summer. Of course, the other option would be yet another year on loan, though some believe that he’s ready for the next step.

“In the immediate future, I still think about ending this season. I don’t know what will happen next year, I try to stay focused on what I’m doing. Then we will see what to do. It would be a dream to return to Milan, of course.

“However, today I think about the present. Renewal with the Rossoneri? My agent, Patrick Bastianelli, is thinking about it. I only think about what I have to do now,” he concluded.

It remains to be seen what decision the Rossoneri leaders will make. However, it’s clear that both Plizzarri and Pobega have a bright future ahead of them, and hopefully they will be the next stars of Milan.
