GdS: Milan are working on a long-term contract for Leao who wants to stay

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are working on a new contract for Rafael Leao which would keep him at the club until 2027, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is a will from both Milan and Leao to continue together beyond the end of his current contract which will expire in 2023.

The Rossoneri want to make sure he is tied down to a long contract so that they do not lose him for free next summer. The new deal could contain a release clause of €150 million but it could take a while for that to be negotiated.

There is also an ongoing issue regarding the €20 million payment to Sporting Lisbon which is causing friction between the two sides.

The deal will not be finalised very quickly but there is no suggestion that the Portuguese forward who was Serie A MVP last season wants to force a move this summer.

      1. Generally speaking i wll absolutely agree bb and in this case i would have argued it propably was a typo of some sort but as its actually repeated twice id argue its someone really badly informed 😀

      1. sure but that isnt the current situation as the article professes his contract to expire already next year which simply isnt correct.

  1. His contract expire 2024 ,but if still refuse to renew contract till 2 week just sell him to highest bid , im not leao hater or dont like him. But if we waiting one year again that will reduce leao price and make leao position stronger for free transfer or asking huge salary
