This season, AC Milan have struggled defensively, and as a result, reinforcements are needed this summer and plans are being made.
Last year, the bane of Milan’s season was their defensive issues, however, it was more due to injuries. Whilst the defensive problems have remained, the actual cause is more difficult to identify. Though it has a lot to do with depth once again.
Throughout the season, the Rossoneri have used nearly 20 different defensive combinations, and this has had significant impacts on the defensive structure.
On this alone, defensive changes are expected, given there is a need for a set unit that can be consistently relied upon. Then, there are also defensive departures that will affect the current look of the team with Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw both linked with moves away.
So it is inevitable that the Diavolo will be active this summer.
As Calciomercato.com write there are several targets being lined up, and the biggest is in the way of Cristian Mosquera – a defender who Geoffrey Moncada has been watching for some time now. Back in Italy, there are a few that are being considered: Koni De Winter, Mario Gila and Oumar Solet – each of whom have shown promise this season.
Mosquera is good player. But remove De Winter Gila and Solet add Antonio Silva Maxime Esteve Enzo Boyomo Pietro Comuzzo Sepp Van den Berg Mamadou Sarr Martin Vitik and Nathan Zézé . If you stayin on 3 CBs we should keep them all and sign two more Estevé and Comuzzo or Sarr and Zézé iff not Sepp Van den Berg replace Tomori Comuzzo replace Thiaw
Playing fantasy football is fun isnt it?
are you out of your mind?
How about looking to the middle of the park to solve the “defensive crisis”?
You can buy all the defenders in the world but it won’t help when you have non functional midfield with no defensive coverage. We see it, I’m sure these clowns too, although they showed on many occasions they’re unfit for their managerial roles.
yeah because Fofana and Reijnders need to be benched
Let me guess geniuses like you think Ricci will somehow magically solve everything because he is Italian
Actually yes, midfield of Fofana and Reijnders doesn’t really work defense wise. If you’d take the time and actually watch any match you would see that. But you never do any aftergame commenting or analysis, never seen that from you. All you do is hunt for red cards and complain under our comments. You’re pathetic and sad.
He is sadthetic.
All this talk about “Selling Tomori or Thiaw” when you should be talking about buying a proper CDM or two.
Not to mention if we keep playing 3 at the back, you need 6 CBs for rotation purpose alone, if you sell one or both, you’ll have to bring in 3 or 4 more CBs just to replace them.
Where’s the money to replace them coming from? Are you planning to split a say 20M Thiaw into two 10M CBs to replace him? Doubt those new CBs will be of sufficient quality to cover for them, much less rotate.
Journalist and Milan fans are so unreasonable. The above comment is right, y’all playing football manager or something.
So unrealistic.
we have excellent rapport getting player from relegation team, so i think getting jay idzes would be ideal
Oumar solet it’s good player. CB with his tall physically and have a good longshot…
Please no more Ricci fan boys again… He’s overrated player made by Italian newspaper… He’s play like gattuso, only for holding opponent body. Hahaha.. No even similar with tonali or Italian playmaker…
You do know that Gattuso is one of the best DMs in history, hugely important to our success under Ancelotti and allowed Pirlo the chance to shine in the 2006 World Cup?
We shld emulate the past Milan team and players characteristics….
Buy players who have the similarity like Gattuso, Pirlo, Maldini, Nesta, Kaka, Inzaghi…..then we shall rise again
