Milan looking to build on amazing league form this Monday – their last five games

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will start their season against Sampdoria on Monday, hoping to at least replicate the successful campaign they had last time out. It will be necessary to start in the best way possible and thus concentration is needed.

Although it was dramatic until the very end in the Champions League race, it’s safe to say that Milan had a great ending to last season. In their last five games, they won four and drew one, scoring 14 goals and conceding zero.

In other words, the Rossoneri will be hoping to build on this form and you could argue that they have a stronger squad this time out, despite the exit of Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu. But that seems to be a never-ending discussion.

Stefano Pioli will rely on Olivier Giroud to provide the goals on Monday, following a successful pre-season tour with three goals. You can take a look at the full expected XI here.
