AC Milan know that they must sign a new starting left-back this summer, and some ideas are beginning to surface.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write this morning, the first target to fill the gap in the starting line-up at full-back is Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso, with whom Massimiliano Allegri has already worked at Juventus.
Cambiaso is liked for various reasons: he is Italian, he knows Allegri’s methods and above all he can play indifferently on both flanks. The problem in his case, however, is the price: Juve said no to a €60m offer from Manchester City in January and do not want to let him go.
His name, therefore, is considered a ‘dream’. This is why the management are making their evalutions on both flanks to insert two starters and add them to the players they have in the squad, initially destined to start as reserves.

Doué and the others
Milan have been following Guéla Doué for some time, the older brother of Désiré Doué, the winger who won the Champions League with PSG. Guéla is a right back born in 2002 and is registered with Strasbourg, who paid €6.5m plus bonuses for him to Rennes last summer.
Guéla has grown and at 22 years of age he can improve further, especially in the attacking phase: his physique is sizeable, however. He is considered an option to follow even if he costs around €20m.
Zakaria El Ouahdi, a Belgian naturalized Moroccan from Genk, has also been proposed to the Rossoneri. He is a few centimetres shorter than Doué, but he has goals in his DNA (eight in 2024-25). The scouts at Milan know him, and there were good reports.
Then there is Marc Pubill at Almeria, who has been in the sights of the Diavolo for some time. In January Atalanta wanted him and now Napoli consider him as an alternative to Juanlu Sanchez at Sevilla.

The left side
Tare, when he was at Lazio, wanted to bring Destiny Udogie to the Biancoceleste, but Tottenham were quicker and bought him from Udinese. Udogie would increase the Italian contingent in Allegri’s squad.
There have already been reports about Cambiaso, an option for both flanks. Despite his 28 years, watch out for Oleksandr Zinchenko of Arsenal, who are about to sign Ajax’s left-handed player Jorrel Hato, a young player who would be another dream for Milan.
However, he also costs a lot and competing with the Gunners is not possible at the moment. Unless there is a sensational surprise signed by Tare.
Cambiasso aside, just a random bunch of crap. Udogie isn’t a good defender, he’s good going forward.
Udogie is not good at anything.
Miguel Gutierrez from Girona for leftback, Zanotti from Lugano for rightback. Both should be affordable
