Tuttosport: Milan secure lucrative new deal with Emirates worth potentially over €100m

By Oliver Fisher -

The news arrived yesterday morning that AC Milan and Emirates have extended their partnership together, continuing an agreement that began in 2007.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports today, the details of the agreement between Milan and Emirates make for positive reading. The deal will be a three-year extension with the amount the Rossoneri will receive going from €14.1m per year to €30m fixed.

There will also be bonuses of up to €15m related to various team objectives, thus marking renewal that has been sought and wanted for some time and one in which Ivan Gazidis had a hand as the departing CEO before handing over to Giorgio Furlani to complete the operation.

Maldini declared directly from Dubai: “To be protagonists we must have revenues as protagonists.” He is correct, and the signing with Emirates brings with it a whole series of very positive consequences for the Milan world and for its brand in the world.

The most obvious is certainly the one linked to an office that the AC Milan club will open in Dubai. The Middle East is a prime geographic location within the world economy and having a base in one of the leading and richest countries in the world like the Emirates becomes crucial.

This office will have the objective of strengthening the communication and commercial strategy in this part of the world, representing a real outlet in Asia.

Milan also move to second in Serie A for revenue received from its main sponsor, behind only Juventus which receives €45m-a-year from FCA Italy (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). The goal is to grow even more.
