AC Milan are expected to make changes to their midfield department this summer and they already have Tiemoue Bakayoko’s replacement in mind, a report claims.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri are big admirers of Lyon midfielder Maxence Caqueret. The France U21 international has been with the Ligue 1 side for two seasons and the management believe he is a perfect fit for Stefano Pioli’s tactics and style of play.
The Rossoneri are following him closely because the 22-year-old has a contract expiring in 2023 and has not yet renewed, which means that there could be a window of opportunity to exploit this summer especially if he indicates a desire to leave.
One thing that is certain is that with Franck Kessie heading for Barcelona on a free transfer and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan likely to be terminated early, the midfield will have to be strengthened in the summer mercato and Milan have had success with signings from France.
