AC Milan are expected to have a big summer transfer market in which they will strengthen several key areas of the squad, it is claimed.
Carlo Laudisa – a journalist for La Gazzetta dello Sport – spoke on Carlo Pellegatti’s YouTube channel (via SempreMilan.it) and he took stock of the upcoming window.
He confirmed that Divock Origi should join on a free transfer because in recent days the talks with the player’s entourage Belgian were productive. There is an agreement for a three-year deal with an option for the fourth year at approximately €4m net per season, while the striker will benefit from the growth decree.
Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City has been talked about as a target, but Laudisa believes that Paolo Maldini will more realistically meet Sassuolo’s CEO Carnevali again to talk about both Berardi and Scamacca.
The new ownership will give him more resources to invest in the market, so they will sign players that know Serie A well or turn to other targets such as Ajax’s Sebastien Haller who costs €45m or the even more expensive Darwin Nunez of Benfica.
“We just need a little patience, because undoubtedly Maldini will have to work out the budget with the new owner. Will 300 million be spent? We will have to see how long it will take. The new Milan certainly want to win and want to finance an important transfer campaign,” he concluded.
