The winter market may well be over for Milan but the work begins for the summer with the Rossoneri identifying their number one target as Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi.
El Ghazi was a name on the lips of all Milan fans this winter as the Rossoneri were in hot pursuit of the talented young player. It was rumoured that a deal was close to been struck between the Rossoneri and the Dutch side, but they soon died down as the player himself put that speculation to bed.
Sky are now reporting that in Ajax’s recent match against Feyenoord last weekend a Milan scout was present to keep a close eye on Dutchman, who Milan are still very much interested in signing.
They also report that the Rossoneri have made the 20-year-old their primary target for the summer in a bid to strengthen the squad, as a European competition is very much on the cards for the Rossoneri next season.
There is a very high chance of El Ghazi been a Rossonero this summer with an agreement already been reached between Milan and the player on personal terms.
The only element missing from the transfer is a deal been struck between the two clubs as negotiations set to go on throughout the season and into the summer.
AC Milan is filled with many offensive options but they mainly come in the form of strikers. One thing the Diavolo are lacking from an attacking perspective is a natural winger as they lack depth in that department.
Although Honda has been doing very good of late, Milan never know what they will get with him and inconsistency is something they can’t afford next season, especially if they are serious about European competition.
El Ghazi can bring something new to Milan: that extra bit of flair and speed as well as plenty of potential from someone who is such a young age.
This potential signing not only brings quality to the Italian giants but it shows how they do have a real project by signing high potential youngsters instead of washed up free transfers.
