After weeks of exploring various different options, Gerry Cardinale has finally made a decision regarding AC Milan’s management.
Sky report that after a month with so many meetings and candidates mentioned, Milan’s managerial restructuring will simply be a reorganisation of internal resources, aside from the new head coach Ruben Amorim of course.

From Cardinale’s point of view, Milan have chosen ‘the Liverpool and Red Bull model’. It is a corporate structure totally different from what teams usually have in Italy, and the owner was the one who made this decision rather than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The new Milan will have a trident at the helm and above all: Cardinale (owner), Amorim (coach), but above all Massimo Calvelli, who will take up the role of being the CEO on a more permanent basis despite suggestions he would be an interim.
Internal resources
Who will compose the new structure? Hendrik Almstadt will be sporting director and director of player trading (basically the man in charge of transfer negotiations). He has been at Milan since 2018. He worked with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal and was the sporting director of Aston Villa for a few years.
Below him will be Bobby Gardiner as the director of football intelligence. He will be responsible for identifying players of interest. Donato Lomonte, the new head of scouting, will report to Gardiner with profiles to sort through.
Then within the team will be Jovan Kirovski, who will remain in charge of Milan Futuro but will work on developing the talent of the young players within the system. Vincenzo Vergine will be in charge of the youth sector.
This will be the new Milan structure. It is experimental, at least in Serie A. Milan will still have a core group tied to RedBird: with Calvelli and David Castelblanco (already on the board of directors) as advisors for investments, operations, and transfer negotiations, plus Ibrahimovic as senior advisor.
There’s no time to waste: in about twenty days, Milanello will reopen its doors. After reorganising the management team, Cardinale and his men will face perhaps the most complicated task: building a strong Milan to bring the club back to the top.

At least, it is some structure, even though the names are not so convincing. And it leaves out Ibra (even though his tendrils may still be lurking around). The important thing will be to not change structure 1 year later but to improve on it.

yes exactly. I think he wants Krosche and his mate to join for the long term and thats a good solution. For now think they will let Amorim have a bigger say in the kinda players he wants which is also a good thing

The solution for this year is probably temporary, because they didn’t go through with Kroesche. His contract with Frankfurt ends next year, so it seems to fit.
But who knows.
I guess we will see what Hendrik Almstadt brings to the table in the first couple of transfers, and if he brings Amorim the sort of players he requests. After all, that relationship will be the most important one. Then we can pass judgement.
Calvelli as a CEO im not worried about. He got two decades of experience of growing global brands. Im sure he will continue to increase AC Milans revenues.
Kiroviski not getting promoted to TD was important. He got no experience of the European market. At least Almstadt spend time in Arsenal and Aston Villa learning.

Apart from the new CEO, not really a strong structure. At least by the names and previous occupations. But as long as they keep Kirovski and Ibra away, there’s hope this could work.
The problem with Ibrahimović, is that he might still have an influence even though he is not listed in the management.
It’s not like he had a clear role since he was appointed.
Ibrahimovic is not going away. He’s put around 40M into Redbird, and Redbird owns Milan. The only way to get him out is to get him to sell his shares.
Just when you though it couldn’t be any worse, Cardinale finds a way to drive Milan eve lower than before… All internal hires. More incompetency. All people in positions they know little about except for Armorim, but he’s a different sort of a question mark…

It’s not that Cardinale found a way to drive Milan even lower. Cardinale had no other way to do it, other than promoting internal people because nobody who is any good wants to work for him. They all slammed the door on his face.
Be prepared for good prospective players to do the same. Nobody good will want to come and play for Milan, with this clueless and incompetent management. So, we’ll be doomed to hire left overs.
And of course, because Ibra has invested his own money with RedBird, he wasn’t fired, Gerry still likes him, and he will continue to interfere and sabotage people, especially Amorim.
Even worse, it’s been said that Jorge Mendes will actually have a huge say in transfers to Milan, more with this managerial group than he had in previous seasons which was already too much.
We’ll be lucky if we make the Conference League next season. We will probably again be 8th or lower.

This is just owner, CEO and coach. There’s no crazy newness about that 🤷♂️. You can pretend one (re coach) has an important say in matter but we all know how that plays out. Nothing has really changed

No good manager, DS, and AD will ever work for the Caridnale buffoon. This coming year is going to be worse than last year, top 8 is going to be a dream. I hope that we get relegated to serie B so Cardinale will be forced to sell. We would have been in the top 4 easily if Ibrahimovic had not sabotaged Allegri.
I think it would be more accurate to change that job title to Director of Football Stupidity.
