Milan’s assistant manager hopeful after retreat and discusses ‘beautiful’ desert experience

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will soon conclude their training retreat in Dubai, scheduled to depart for Italy on Tuesday, and it has been a positive experience so far. This was stated by assistant manager Giacomo Murelli.

The Rossoneri have been able to work hard in the heat and also played two friendlies this week (albeit losing both, vs. Arsenal and Liverpool). The most important thing, after all, was to regain fitness ahead of the resumption on January 4.

Speaking to MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Milan’s assistant manager Giacomo Murelli spoke about the experience in Dubai thus far. He also shared his thoughts on what the upcoming weeks will be like.

On the desert safari…

“It was a beautiful day and a beautiful experience that allowed us to get to know each other better. The positive thing was having the whole team group, the staff but above all the people who work with us during the season and who perhaps don’t always have the time to talk with us.”

On the break and work in recent weeks…

“This is a very important period, it allows us to find the condition we should have during the season. We are working with serenity from a technical and psychological point of view. Everything is going well. It was certainly special [the break], that’s why we are tackling this situation with the utmost attention. We are convinced that things will work out for the best.”

Milan will face PSV Eindhoven on January 30 and it will, of course, be their last friendly ahead of the Salernitana clash. The hope is that most of the players will be in good physical shape by then.
