Telegraf: Milan may have edge on Man Utd in race for Porto star due to Liverpool factor

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have once again been linked with a move for Porto midfielder Marko Grujic but face competition from England, a report claims.

According to Serbian source Telegraf.rs, Grujic is a target for two clubs ahead of the summer given that he has been on of Porto’s most important players, especially in the Champions League where they reached the knockout stages.

Manchester United and Milan have made serious enquiries about Grujic and contacts have already been established through intermediaries as per the source, with the idea of a sale not being ruled out.

The 26-year-old has already played in England with Liverpool who bought him from Crvena Zvezda for €6m but he never got much of a look-in under Jurgen Klopp so was eventually sold to Porto for €9m.

However, the report mentions that Milan might have an edge over Manchester United not just because he played for Liverpool – which is this club’s biggest rival – but also because he has been a big fan of Liverpool since his childhood.
