Before starting actual negotiations with Almeria, AC Milan want to get a full assessment of Marc Pubill’s knee condition.
That is according to MilanNews, who report that, for this reason, they have sent members of their medical staff to Barcelona. With Almeria’s approval, Pubill is undergoing preliminary tests focusing on one of his knees, and the results will be crucial in progressing the negotiations.

Pubill’s entourage are also present at this unusual procedure, in which the Milan management want to remove any reasonable doubt about Pubill’s physical condition.
The background
Two years ago, the Spanish full-back was all set to move to Atalanta for around €20m, but during his medical – according to reports from the summer of 2024 – a knee problem emerged that required further specialist assessment.
After more checks, Atalanta abandoned the deal. In an interview with Relevo, the full-back told his story: “These things happen in football. Atalanta treated me well. When I was at the Olympics, we spoke several times with the sporting director.

“They were banking on me, I went there to sign, and I passed the medical tests, even though it was said I hadn’t passed. In fact, the doctor there asked me who had operated on my knee, because he saw that it was in great condition.
“Then, for reasons of their own or their own decisions, they backed out. I don’t know why, but it’s not something that bothers me much. I have no hard feelings or problems. I’m back in Almería and I’m happy to be here.”
Given this precedent, Milan have decided to evaluate the player’s knee condition before opening negotiations with Almeria. In the background are Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are already well advanced with the player and the Spanish club but have been put on hold, and Juventus.

Signing Pubill and Estupinan before the asia tour should be prio one.
Yes Jashari would nice but we have Fofana, Ricci, Modric, Loftus-Cheek, Bondo and Musah at central midfield right now (Pobega too but I’m assuming hes leaving for Bologna). If one of the above leave (Musah most likely) then one more is needed, but at the moment a LB, a RB and a striker is whats really needed.
Once we have landed a LB, RB and striker then we can revisit Jashari or Guerra.
Waiting for Vlahovic until mid august could prove fatal if he ends up going elsewhere…
His knee surgery was two years ago and he has been playing regularly since. According to Transfermarketweb, he played 40 games last season (2024-25)
I see the idea for caution but we have to move or find someone else.
