AC Milan are one of the clubs that are monitoring the situation of Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, according to a report.
According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via Calcioblog), Sassuolo’s sporting director Carnevali has set an asking price of €40m for Frattesi in view of the summer window, but this has not put off the top teams in Italy.
The player’s agent Beppe Riso was reportedly spotted yesterday at the headquarters of Inter, while Juventus are now well known to be admirers of the 23-year-old, who has scored six goals in 30 league games this season.
Milan, on the other hand, are currently watching the evolution of the situation and they may try to firmly establish themselves in the race, especially given that there will probably be the need to sign a midfielder in the summer.
Aster Vranckx and Tiemoue Bakayoko are on loan until the end of the season and currently look set to return, while Franck Kessie was never really replaced in terms of quality depth.
Another attack minded mid. We might better switch to 4-3-3 lol. What Milan is missing in the mid is a real defensive mid who can cover the defenders.
You can get Milinkovic savic with same price 40m euro next summer. With SMS we can switch to 433 and dont need CDK play as AMF anymore
Need a striker.
Need an AM.
Need a RW (whether that is spending money on Brahim or not).
That’s 50m to 80m in 3 areas in which we don’t have a Scudetto challenging quality option for next season. In reality we probably want to spend 90m to 100m but would have to sell someone to do that.
I do not see how we can spend anything but loose change on the midfield, certainly not the amount it would cost to sign Frattesi.
In reality, the midfield was found out while Krunic was injured and before Pobega made the gains it looks like he has made in his last 2 starts.
While Rade does not conjure images of the sort of player you fantasise about signing, the reality is that he is a genius tactically and can make a midfield mix work.
It’s been a whirlwind re Pobega for me. A Triestin in the heart of Milan’s midfield is something I really wanted to see. That hope came crashing back to earth once I saw him in our system. However, he has looked really solid against Empoli and Bologna – in that deep lying role which is not his natural role but in which he is starting to look comfortable. Playing the part against sides like Empoli and Bologna next season is exactly what we need (to rest Tonali and Bennacer). His physicality could be something that makes him more important than useful.
Sell CDK. Sign a real AM, ideally Zaniolo because SMS will cost far too much, and Zaniolo is having fun in Turkey finding the finish touch which had abandoned him. Show some faith in Daniel Maldini who is clearly a better AM/winger than CDK with even more upside. I’ll simply refer those who scoff to DM’s performances for Spezia under Semplici. It’s only been a few months but he looks really good.
Spend some time developing Adli in a box to box role.
AM: Zaniolo, Maldini (+ Brahim and Adli)
CM: Tonali, Bennacer, Krunic, Pobega (+ Adli)
Look to integrate Eletu and Zeroli.
I’d love to se Frattesi in that CM line but it would mean no AM or CDK which might as well be no AM.
