Report claims Milan are monitoring situation of Man City full-back Cancelo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are among the sides monitoring the situation of Joao Cancelo at Manchester City, according to a report from England.

The Portugal international is regarded by many as one of the best full-backs in the world yet he has struggled for playing time since returning from the World Cup.

He started in the losses against Southampton and Manchester United but remained on the bench for each of their last two games, in addition to being brought off at half-time in the win at Chelsea.

The Sun write how Guardiola has preferred academy product Rico Lewis and a even Nathan Ake to Cancelo, and while Cancelo only signed a contract extension with City 12 months ago until 2027 he could be looking for an exit soon.

Milan are among the teams keeping an eye on things as they are on good terms with his agent Jorge Mendes, and the 28-year-old already has Serie A experience having played for Inter and Juventus.

  1. Milan are great at “monitoring”, aren’t they? They monitor and monitor and monitor, until eventually they get outbid by a team in the lower reaches of the Premiership, and then moan about it for ages.

    1. Which club doesn’t monitor? And how much is there any truth behind these “Oh, Milan want him so bad”-type of articles really?

And when a player moves to somewhere else people are “Well, Maldini ****ed this up once again” even when Milan never had any intentions on getting the player in the first place. 😀

    2. MC Miker G is great at ‘complaining’, you complain, complain and complain, even if its because of the stupid 250m reckless spending we did during the Chinese era that we are in this situation, you dont care, you want another 250m down the drain so you can brag on twitter

  2. All milan do since elliot days is to monitor every player…….buy none……now elliot sold the club to a dead bird who is even more stingy at spending monies……monitor …..new name ac monitor

  3. Valued at 70M and with an 8m per year wages. Milan can maybe afford Cancelo’s autograph with the new boards idea of getting back to the top.
