AC Milan and Monza should continue their tradition of contesting the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy at the end of this summer’s preseason, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, traditions will not change, even in these hours in which Monza’s ownership might. The Silvio Berlusconi Trophy will remain a fixed appointment in the summer of Milan also in 2025.

It will still be played between Milan and Monza and will return to Brianza, to the U-Power Stadium. The date remains to be defined, with two possibilities still on the table: Tuesday 19 or Wednesday 20 August.

The Berlusconi Trophy is in its third edition. So far, Milan have always won, on penalties in the summer of 2023, and 3-1 at San Siro a year ago. It has always been played just before Ferragosto generally.

Monza, who were relegated to Serie B in 2024-25, will try again to lift the trophy for the first time and home, with many new things to keep an eye on. The two coaches, for example: Paolo Bianco and Max Allegri.

The match for Milan will be above all a test before the league debut, scheduled for the weekend of August 23-24, when Allegri will start at home against Cremonese. A few days before (August 16 is a possibility), Milan will play in the Coppa Italia against Bari. This is certainly much less traditional.
