Diario AS: Milan have made most concrete offer for five-time Champions League winner

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are the team that have made the highest bid to Real Madrid full-back Marcelo ahead of a potential free transfer, a report claims.

According to a report from Diario AS, there are a number of teams interested in signing Marcelo for next season after his exit from Real Madrid has been confirmed, and Milan are the team who have made the most concrete offer to him.

The Rossoneri have presented Marcelo with a proposal that would guarantee him €3m net per year, but it seems that the Brazilian is not convinced by the idea of playing for Milan at that amount given it would be half of the €6m he currently gets at Real Madrid.

Milan will continue to try for the signing of Marcelo and have not ruled out improving their offer, the report adds, but they will have to speed up the operation because Marseille is another of the clubs who are very much interested.

  1. Not bad for a backup. Winner and every single player that commented on him said only positive things, you can’t go wrong with signing him or a year or 2, even if it is only to help the younger players. 3M should be enough.

  2. Hahahaha, the position in which Milan are strongest and have one of the best players in the world? If there is truth in this, it means Theo is being sold to PSG or Manchester City (who need a new left back) so fingers crossed it isn’t.

    1. You do understand that Theo hasn’t had a back up for 2 years now?
Do you really think Milan is selling Theo and bringing 34 year old Marcelo to replace him?
I mean use some common sense

      1. No, I don’t, but I also don’t think Marcelo will want to be a backup for one of the best in the world, hence my cynicism at the story.

        1. The way i see it is this :
Marcelo has won all major club trophies that could be won during his illustrious career, so there weren’t many achievements left to be won. A decreased role might be suited him, since he’s almost at the end of his career (he’s 34 years old). Reduced playing time should give his body plenty time to recover and help maintain his overall fitness. One thing that would be highly valuable is his leadership, experience, and winning mentality, especially in the UCL. And as a bonus, iirc… he’s a big fan of Maldini, and has said that he idolized him… so, it should be a huge boost to work with/under Maldini.

  3. Just skip this , too high salary for back up. We need Italian left back for depth and to fill slot homegrown player. Sign Cambiasso as Theo deputy should be good
