Messaggero: Milan the most likely destination as centre-back’s future at Lazio is uncertain

Francesco Acerbi’s future at Lazio remains uncertain and AC Milan are at the window observing his situation, according to a report.

Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) reports that Acerbi ‘will have to try to heal relations with the Lazio fans’ and that his future is ‘still to be written’. Against Cagliari he was back in the starting line-up after two months of hiatus, and he put in high-level performance, getting warm compliments from Maurizio Sarri in the dressing room.

After the victory they achieved a sort of ‘truce’ was agreed but the relationship is still strained after his celebration back on December 17 against Genoa. A definitive decision on the future of the 34-year-old has not yet been taken and will probably be postponed to the end of the season.

In the event that he does decide to move on (he has a contract until 2025), the most likely destination remains Milan. This season the Italy international has 26 appearances with 3 goals and 2 assists.
