ML: Milan join race for 17-year-old Dortmund star with six goals this season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Youssoufa Moukoko who is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund before the start of next season, a report claims.

A report from MilanLive claims that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are on the lookout for a young centre-forward given that Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and 36 and 41 respectively while Divock Origi has so far not offered guarantees.

A profile that could be ideal for the Rossoneri’s project is Youssoufa Moukoko, who was called up for the World Cup in Qatar by Germany coach Hansi Flick and has a contract which expires at the end of the season.

Moukoko is followed by Milan, Inter and other international clubs. He is considered a forward with a great potential, given that he has six goals and three assists in 14 Bundesliga games so far this season at the age of just 17.

The idea of his entourage is to hope his value goes up further at the World Cup and then they will to find him a new club as early as January, when the price would be around €30m, but Maldini is keeping an eye on the situation amid interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.

  1. Has high long term potential, but like Gvardiol or Musiala, the young stars of the Bundesliga don’t come cheap.

I’d guess he’s waaaaaaaay out of our budget. Good clickbait article though, I clicked after all 😀

  2. Just follow him for now, but bring in a goalkeeper, and a strong right wing. you all forget about colombo1 and those that are in our b team…..

  3. Just stop… we have so many projects so many young kids with years before they’re excellent… we need some players ready now or this just proves we’re all about turning profits and have no desire to actually continue fighting for the scudetto or progressing far in the cl

    1. We signed players who were ready, that’s why we won the scudetto and have you somehow managed to forget the young players who’ve had their contracts extended recently? If we were about turning profits, Donarumma and Kessie would have been sold before leaving on a free.

      1. Donnarumma, Kessis, Calha, Alessio. That is just bad management not a sign that we don’t care about profits.

And sorry but you are quite wrong. We won the scudetto last year yet lost a main defender in Romagnoli and a main CM/DM in Kessie. How did we replace them. With an unknown child in Thaiw, an unknown child in Vranckx, bringing back Pobega etc and an unknown child in Adli… then we desperately needed a ST, a AM and RW. We got no new RW, a super sub from Liverpool that we thought was going to be the next coming of Christ although he’s yet again an unknown quantity as a starter, and lastly at AM we got yet another unproven child in CDK.

So tell me please, where did we get any players that are ready this past year when we are trying to retain a scudetto and excel in the CL…

        1. If you really watched us last season, you should know alrdy that for a big part of season, Romagnoli was our 4th choice CB – far from ‘main’ CB.

And toward the end of last season, Kessie played rotation to Bennacer-Tonali too, he mostly played from start because our CAM sucked so bad.

Not to say we have got ready players, but the fact is, we have limited budget and there’s just so much we need to add to squad – arguably we won last season because we played no European comps after December – that gave us more time to prepare for each match, less fatigue and injury so we could play pretty much our starting eleven every match.

    2. I agree that over the last 3,4 years Milan has been mostly investing in projects. Outside of the old guys Ibra, Kjaer, Giroud & prime Maignan every other player has been a project signing and not a ready made proven player.
But i strongly disagree that Milan is all about turning profits. Because to turn profit you actually need to sell the players once they reach their prime and get money in return. Instead we just let them leave for free

  4. i think we’ve enough potential youngsters, we need proven or ready players for busy schedule, extend key players contract & buy players like SMS/Firmino or even Vlahovic want to go.
Mukoko can be new Messi or Bojan we never know, Camarda has better goals stat than Mukoko & only a year younger, if he is in Ger/Frn/Dtch league he already in 1st team
