Repubblica: Milan and Napoli to do battle for winger rated at €35m

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Napoli are doing battle on the pitch in the race for the Scudetto but they also share a target for the summer window, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by the newspaper La Repubblica (via MilanNews), Milan and Napoli are strongly interested in signing Berardi because both are looking for an upgrade on their right flank.

However, they will have to cough up a serious amount of cash because the Neroverdi are anticipating a potential auction and that is why they have set an asking price of €35m for the 27-year-old at the moment.

It is a pretty sizeable figure, but it must be remembered that Berardi is a player who in the current Serie A season has amassed 12 goals plus 10 assists in the 26 games he has played, reaching double figures in goals scored for the fifth season in a row in the process.

  1. Berardi at €35million is too expensive, plus he’s gonna be 28 yrs very soon.
Milan should go for young, experience players with enormous potential.
Like NOA LANG of Club Brügge.

    1. Since when 28-year-old attackers have been “too old”?! FFS, he has still 5-7 good years ahead of him. At 35 he’ll still be more useful than Castillejo, Saelemaekers & Messias Jr. combined.

  2. Serie A player and nothing more. As long as there is no pressure and no expectations he will play his heart out, as soon as he has competition, needs to deliver on regular bases, he disappears. It was so obvious during Euros.

He would be like deer in headlights in UCL. We can do much better for less.

    1. Very average overrated player. A lot of people will realize that if Milan sign him. They look at his stats where most of his goals come from penalties .There is a reason this guy at 28 still plays for mid to bottom table club. If Milan are willing to spend 35 mil on him than they should have given those money for kuluseveski. Superior player with higher upside. I doubt Milan is even interested in him, it’s only pushed by the media

      1. Man Kulu would totally rock. He is already a beast, but under Don Pioli and with Ibra there he would become unstoppable. Sadly I think that ship has sailed.
