TV2: Milan and Napoli among teams to try for Norway international Berge

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan made an attempt to sign Sander Berge from Sheffield United but did not get close to their requests, a report claims.

TV2 in Norway are reporting that Berge will stay at Sheffield United until the January window at least despite the fact his agent Morten Wivestad has been fielding calls throughout the summer transfer window, including and especially on deadline day.

The report mentions several Premier League clubs tried to sign Berge on a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy on the final day but they did not strike a deal with the Championship club.

Belgian Club Brugge have also been strongly linked with Berge but he will not leave the Yorkshire side despite the fact the window is open until 6 September for the Juliper Pro League.

The source adds that Milan and Napoli also tried to bring Berge on loan, but they ‘did not get close to Sheffield United’s asking price’. In the end, the Rossoneri signed Aster Vranckx on a loan with option to buy deal from Wolfsburg.

  1. Agents are the parasites of football who are killing the game. They don’t care about their players only the cut they get from getting their players to move. I respect players who don’t have agents.
