GdS: Milan and Napoli top of the ‘Seven Sisters’ – Sunday’s clash has added meaning

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are top of the pile when it comes to games between the top seven sides in Serie A, but the most important game is always the next one.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report how Milan are leading the way when it comes to clashes between them Inter, Napoli, Juve, Atalanta, Rome and Lazio – the ‘Seven Sisters’ of Serie A – as they have eighteen points in nine games against those sides, with five wins, three draws and one defeat.

After the Rossoneri we find Napoli who have 15 points in 9 games, an average of 1.66 points per game, and one of those wins was against Milan at San Siro. Therefore, winning tomorrow at the Stadio Maradona would be of great value for Milan not only for the table itself, but also because the Azzurri are the only ones to have taken the three points from them in the mini-ranking.

A victory would balance the head-to-head too. After Napoli is Inter with 10 games and 14 points, after three wins and five draws (two losses) at an average of 1.44 points per game. It is an identical record for Juventus, then down to 1.22 for Atalanta (9 games, 11 points), 0.88 for Lazio (9 games, 8 points) and finally Roma (0.5 average, 4 points in 8 games).
