Gazzettino: Milan and Napoli also battling off the pitch – €35m striker targeted

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing striker Beto from Udinese and have made enquiries, but his asking price has reportedly risen.

As reported by Il Gazzettino (via AreaNapoli), Milan director Paolo Maldini has carried out enquiries in the last few days to understand the feasibility of the operation ahead of the summer, when the club will need to invest in a new centre-forward.

However, Napoli are also keen on signing the Portuguese striker so there could well be yet another battle between Milan and the Partenopei in addition to the on-field clashes in the league and the Champions League.

Beto could only join Napoli if Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club sells Victor Osimhen, a highly sought-after player especially in the Premier League and with a market valuation well above €100m.

If they were to sell the Nigerian they would have greater financial power than Milan to go for Beto, given that Udinese want €35m in order to sell him.
