AC Milan are ready to go back in for Joe Gomez, having tried to sign the Liverpool defender in the summer window.

Milan is waiting for the winter transfer window to open to finalise the crucial adjustments needed to make Massimiliano Allegri’s squad more competitive, with more depth in each department. The last few games have shown significant signs that the management cannot ignore.

Allegri needs at least three new additions: a quality central defender, a natural striker and a wing-back who can give Saelemaekers a break.

Back in for Gomez

According to Calciomercato.com, the striker issue is about to be resolved as Niclas Füllkrug will arrive from West Ham on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. Then, the focus will shift to the central defender for Igli Tare and co.

Thiago Silva has gone to Porto, while Lotito’s resistance will make signing Mario Gila difficult. In recent days, Axel Disasi – who is out of Chelsea’s plans – has been proposed. The Rossoneri are evaluating him after Tare made an attempt to sign another Premier League player: Joe Gomez.

In the summer, Milan had already negotiated over Gomez, but without receiving any particular openness from Liverpool. Their position now appears unchanged: Gomez rarely plays and would rush to Milan, but Slot is holding him back and is not open to his sale.

Tare will try to negotiate again in the coming days, but the path remains very difficult, because the Reds too are looking add to their defence rather than subtract from it.

    1. Don’t you get it He’s the cheapest they have in mind. It’s just business nothing personal or ambition to succeed in UCL. At least not yet.

      1. Love Rudiger. Even at 32, he’d be a game-changer.

Disasi is a centre-back, not sure if he’s be as effective as an LB or RB (backup/replacement for Tomori/Pavlo. However, he’d certainly be a big upgrade for de Winter….who could be loaned out for more experience/playing time next year.

  1. I am very sorry to see repeating Same mistakes and Failures just LooNkuku and Origi, so this is signing Another Origi
