Mediaset: Milan ready new offer to Leao – release clause could get huge increase

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to relaunch their attempts to secure the renewal of Rafael Leao as the green light has arrived from Gerry Cardinale, a report claims.

Claudio Raimondi spoke on SportMediaset (via MilanNews) about the situation related to Leao, confirming that the winger should soon receive a new extension offer from Milan worth €6m net per season until 2027.

This is an exception to the internal salary ceiling set at Milan after Gerry Cardinale’s approval, while the journalist added that there is also talk of raising the release clause up to €250m, compared to the current €150m.

Milan want to move forward with Leao as a protagonist because they know they have a special talent on their books that deserves to be paid as such. Leao has the same agent as Renato Sanches, namely Jorge Mendes, and pleasing Leao could make life a little easier in talks over the midfielder.

    1. His not all that ,nothing extra ordinary about Charles , I’d rather have Renato and definitely secure Leao and his selling clause .

  1. ODLIČAN I PAMETAN POTEZ !!

    1. Didn’t Barca put a 500m release clause on Kessie? LOL It’s not a legit valuation but a deterrent so they aren’t bothered fielding lowball offers I guess…

    2. You need it just in case. The market is full of money bags. We should cover our back just to have a better position to negotiate in case of sale.

  2. 6M€ won’t be enough though. I’m starting to sense a Cashie-vibe here… If Milan did somehow manage to find the money & increase the offer to 7M€ then Mendes would just raise the bar again.

I don’t see Leao signing the contract but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

    1. He also think he will go, he says he is commited to Milan now, ofc now, but not in 2 years. That’s my feeling
