Milan set new box office record for Italian clubs in win over Spurs

AC Milan set a new Italian record during last night’s win against Spurs in the Champions League in terms of revenues from ticket sales.

According to SempreMilan.it, Milan beat Tottenham 1-0 in the first leg of their round of 16 clash in the Champions League with the decisive goal coming from Brahim Diaz, but there was another reason for the club to celebrate.

The Rossoneri have in fact set the new record among Italian clubs for the most box office takings for a single game. There were roughly 74,320 spectators at San Siro which raised a total of €9,133,842 in ticket sales.

As mentioned, the capacity crowd at San Siro were treated to a first UCL knockout stage win in 10 years and one day (with the previous beating the 2-0 victory over Barcelona at the same stage in 2012-13) and they were also part of an incredible four-sided display that was a quite remarkable spectacle for the cameras.
