AC Milan do intend to sign a new defender with Alex Jimenez on his way out of the club, but Joe Gomez will be a difficult deal to pull off.

Matteo Moretto spoke in a YouTube video (via MilanNews) on Sunday afternoon, with just over 24 hours of the window left. He previously stated that he believes Milan will be one of the most active late movers and now he has given some updates on the various tracks that are open.

Jimenez is leaving for England, heading to Bournemouth. As said, the deal will be a loan with an option to buy, which becomes mandatory under certain fairly simple conditions. He adds that Milan would like to find a replacement for the Spaniard, a player on loan and therefore a new right-back.

Regarding Joe Gomez, the Rossoneri haven’t reached a financial agreement with the player. Milan have already sent an official offer to Liverpool, but there’s less and less time left to close this deal.

On Adrien Rabiot, Milan are moving forward. There’s constant and ongoing contact because Milan want the Frenchman. He’s the player Allegri requested, even though the deal remains difficult because of how much Marseille and the ex-PSG man want to make it happen.

  1. I think that Milan is trying to enter the Guinness book of records for most transfer in one window. My best guess.

    1. They loaned Jimenez and Musah, who actually did good yesterday so we can spend money on another RB? That we didn’t even enter into negotiations for yet? And transfer window is done in 27 hours. You don’t do this on football manager.

    2. If Tare negotiated transfer commissions in his contract, he’s already a very rich man in less than two months.

      1. Yeah, I doubt it is like that. But player managers love Tare, they net some money on every transfers and he just keeps doing them…

  2. Jimenez was so rushed…

we are still struggling with CB, game of chicken with Marseille and Rabiot mom and trying to make Roma agree to reverse-Musah deal… sounds about right

  3. If it’s difficult then why bother?!
Not like we are in early june.
Only days left in mercato, this is not the time for bargain or haggle.
Go find someone within your transfer and salary budget.
Surely you have a grand plan of who to sign as replacement before you sell your players.
    Surely, right?

  4. Get a damn Striker and CB through the door. How are you still focusing on another useless CM??? How is the priority not a goalscorer and an experienced head in defense????????????

  5. There’s no point of another attacker, we have too many people competing for 2 CF spots. Rabiot is because jashari is injured and allegri likes him.CB is a priority and i dont really like Gomez, we could have got someone better if there wasn’t 2hrs left of the window. That’s the thing I feel like Tare really messed up as it feels like we are panicking again after Akanji rejected us. And the RB is just not necessary in my opinion we have athekame and people like tomori and de winter who can play there, I would just focus on rabiot and a cb (hopefully not Gomez).

    1. He’s basically owned by real madrid, and apparently there are some disciplinary problems like being late to training

        1. They are signing that guy from Crystal Palace as well. Forgot his name. If he joins won’t be a problem for Liverpool.
