Multiple reports this morning are speaking of a shake-up in the management at AC Milan in the summer, and the addition of a sporting director.
As a reminder, Milan have been officially without a sporting director since December 11 after the dismissal of Antonio D’Ottavio due to friction with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jovan Kirovski. Since his exit, there has been speculation about a potential replacement, be it an internal or external hire.
According to this morning’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanPress), the casting for the new sporting director has been underway for some time and will get into full swing in the coming weeks as we approach the end of the season.
The owner Gerry Cardinale is personally leading the search for an expert figure in the trade, intending to add a new member of the working group which currently features Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic and CEO Giorgio Furlani.
The main names proposed are Fabio Paratici (whose suspension ends in July) and Andrea Berta (formerly of Atletico Madrid, who left in December). Both have a huge amount of experience in the role and have been credited for their squad-building work.
Corriere dello Sport are of the same opinion that Milan will hire a new director, but they put forward two other names: François Modesto (formerly of Monza) and Igli Tare (who was last at Lazio). Geoffrey Moncada would return to being a chief scout.
Moncada is going to be demoted! That’s the best news all year.
Get Tare!!! The list of talents he had brought to Lazio for small sums of money is insane.
Lazio will require a large sums for him. Knowing their owner
He’s not working for Lazio anymore if I remember correctly.
Tare is not working with Lazio almost a year
Given how it generally goes within this club, we will probably end up with Paratici or Modesto.
Yes,
I wish they realise the mistake and bring Maldini back
It was a promising Milan when massara and Maldini were in the management.
I was the time when Theo, leao, mignan and tonali were at their best
Exactly, Maldini was able to form a scudetto winner team from nothing.
BRING MALDINI BACK
I doubt a top sporting director would accept the role with the ambiguous nature of Ibrahimovic role. You would want clear assurance that he is not going to veto or undermine you.
What evidence do you have that Ibrahimovic has that kind of power? He doesn’t.
So from these names I rated them
Igi Tare
Andrea Berta
François Modesto
Fabio Paratici ( the reason is because he got banned from UEFA because the transfer business he did at Juventus and didn’t do s*** at Spurs)
The best candidate from all of them is PAOLO MALDINI
Maldini or nothing.
The only one that was able to bring Milan back to where it should be.
Bridge burned. Maldini and this ownership are incompatible.
I’d more than gladly see Maldini back at AC Milan but realistically speaking that wont happen as long as the club is owned by Red Bird/Cardinale as that simply would mean they would have to swallow their own pride in how badly they messed up things by firing him. Let a lone would Paolo Maldini actually want to work with them again, I have my doubts.
Of the 4 candidates mentioned above I’d take Tare.
Then let’s hope that they can’t pay the loan taken from Elliott or some way they sell it.
Then there is a hope.
Well there is always hope but considering that RedBird had their vendor loans refinanced with Elliot then that hope will to my understanding only become a potential topic in June 2028 so I’m afraid you will have to show a bit of patience here. Personally I think we are stuck with Cardinale and his merry men for minimum the next decade.
Clowns…😂😂😂😂 Milan is done…!!!! 20 directors 😂😂😂🤮
If maldini comeback milan we be great again because he knows everything about this clube
If maldini comeback milan we be great again because he understands everything about milan,,’Gerry Cardinale please try an bring money out to a quality players..
I hope Gerry is working with a consultant or advisor that knows what they’re doing, I don’t trust Gerry to hire a janitor let alone sporting director…
You guys are dreaming. Zero chance Maldini is coming back as long as Cardinale is the owner. And he certainly isn’t going to be interested in having Ibra looking over his shoulder.
Paolo knows these guys will sell within a year or two and he’ll see what the future may hold with new ownership.
They might actually sell this summer if they’re lucky enough to get into Top 4.
