CF: Hypothesis of Milan building new stadium on their own could arise under Investcorp

Multiple sources are now claiming that AC Milan may soon have new owners, which has provoked questions regarding the new stadium project.

Calcio e Finanza have given an update, recalling how the Bahrain fund Investcorp – who are apparently close to buying Milan – are big on the real estate sector. In recent months they acquired the Roman offices of IFAD from Prelios for €128m and the Kering offices in Milan for €74m, bringing real estate assets owned in Europe to €1.1bn.

These interests could thus also be intertwined with the theme of the new stadium in Milano and if there are further obstacles involving the council, Investcorp’s arrival could change the cards on the table.

The Cathedral project is seen as an important opportunity and Milan pushed the plan together with Inter, and it must be considered that the project is one of the themes that makes the Rossoneri even more attractive on the market to potential buyers.

However, in the background there is also the hypothesis of Milan buolding their own stadium and the arrival of Investcorp could deepen the speculation on this front. It cannot be excluded that San Siro that remains standing, leaving the management of the (renovated) stadium to Inter, while Milan could look to build their own stadium.
