AC Milan refuse to give up on the idea of signing Sven Botman from Lille and Paolo Maldini is pushing for a positive conclusion, a report claims.
MilanNews reports that although Newcastle has presented a higher offer to Lille for the defender, Botman continues to keep the ‘promise’ he made with Milan and with Maldini specifically, who is the number one admirer. one of the Dutchman.
Maldini and Ricky Massara absolutely want to sign Botman who has always been the number one target to reinforce Stefano Pioli’s rearguard and will remain so right until the end. Today’s news suggests Newcastle have started probing other profiles, given their hurry to bring in new players.
The Magpies are evaluating the situation from day to day, and given that Botman does not seem willing to accept a transfer to them they could abandon their pursuit, but Milan are likely to have to raise their offer to Lille.
Both Botman & Renato will be Milan players once Maldini’s renewal is finalized.

In the interview last month, Maldini seems not enthusiastic when he was asked about Botman, he just said that they followed (not currently following?) Botman but there are a lot of good players in his role. It is contrary to when he was asked about Origi, he straightforwardly confirmed that he is talking with Origi.
Maldini has always been hesitant to reveal anything. He’s not one of those guys who declare things beforehand.
Which means the Origi deal is 100% certain but Botman isn’t.
I just realize Lille drop to 10th place in Ligue 1 this season. Are this duo really that good?

It is good he choose AC Milan. Newcastle offer salary 5m euro nett while AC Milan only 3m euro nett. Newcastle can pay transfer fee up to 45m euro for botman while AC Milan offer only 30m euro . The problem are M&M still not extend new contract , it slow the progress AC Milan transfer market. Just waiting
