Christopher Nkunku is no longer part of the AC Milan project and several clubs have expressed an interest, including Leipzig and Newcastle.
After a solid pre-season, Ruben Amorim’s decision to exclude Nkunku from the squad came as somewhat of a surprise. In fact, like a few other outcasts in the team, he has now even been stripped of his shirt number (No.18).

In short, the Frenchman will definitely leave Milan this summer and work is currently ongoing to find him a new home. Several clubs are keeping tabs on the situation, with a loan move possible, but the Rossoneri want to get the best deal possible.
Two clubs pushing
Speaking about the situation on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano named Leipzig as the most likely destination at the moment, as Nkunku is pushing for this solution. However, Newcastle can offer more to Milan and thus cannot be ruled out at the moment.
“The indication from those who are close to the player is that Germany is more interesting than England. Newcastle are still the team making the best loan offer to Milan, so we will have to figure out which path will be taken.
“However, in the last few days, Nkunku has become more convinced about a return to Leipzig. He has spoken to the manager, which is why the Leipzig option has gained more strength. But an agreement must also be reached with Milan, not just Nkunku,” he stated.
